The Shire of Gnowangerup wishes to advise all ratepayers and residents that the new waste facility (Tip) gates will come into operation on Monday 22nd February 2021 for the Gnowangerup, Borden and Ongerup sites.

The Shire is in the process of developing a new Disability Access and Inclusion Plan and your feedback is important to us to determine goals that the Shire can aim towards to improve the lives of people with a Disability.

The Shire of Gnowangerup Administration Office and Depot will be closed from 4:30pm, Thursday 24th December 2020 reopening for normal business hours 9:00am Monday 4th January 2021.

The Shire of Gnowangerup resolved at the Ordinary Meeting of Council held on 25th November 2020, to commence the process of making the proposed Shire of Gnowangerup Standing Orders Local Law 2020.

Council at its Ordinary Meeting on 22nd July 2020, Resolved to hold Ordinary Meetings of Council commencing at 3:30pm on the following dates:

Pavement construction (gravel overlay) including vegetation clearing, spoil removal, drainage improvements and culvert installation on Chillinup Road.

Fire Advisory General Committee Meeting All Shire of Gnowangerup Bush Fire Brigades and Fire Control Officers please note that the Next General Meeting is to be held on Thursday 15th October 2020 at the Gnowangerup Shire Council Chambers commencing at 4.30pm. The Shire of Gnowangerup invites quotations from suitably qualified and experienced civil contractors for the supply of civil works plant and to undertake bitumen road shoulder grading on Borden Bremer Bay Road and Boxwood Hill Ongerup Road.

The Shire of Gnowangerup invites tenders from suitably qualified and experienced civil contractors for the supply of civil works plant, to undertake pavement construction including shoulder widening, pavement repairs, vegetation clearing and culvert / drain widening ready for bitumen seal on Kwobrup Rd for a distance of approximately 3.00 km.

The Shire has noticed a large number of regulatory road signs (speed, stop signs, give way) and advisory signs that have been knocked down over the past few months. We understand that accidents can happen, especially when large machinery is being moved along our roads. We are asking that if you knock over a sign or see one already down that you report this so it can be fixed as soon as possible and not cause a road safety issue. Regulatory signs are the responsibility of Main Roads all other signs belong to Local Government however, we are happy to assist in the reporting of damaged signs in an effort to keep our road users safe. From July 2020 on, the Ordinary Meetings of Council will return to be held at the Council Chambers, 28 Yougenup Road.

Please be advised that due to the instillation of a new gate and concrete being poured at the Ongerup Tip, it will be required to close for a period of 5 days. The date is still to be confirmed but it will either be the week beginning Monday 15th June or the week beginning Monday 22nd June. During this time, there will be no access at all. Residents are encouraged to go to the Borden Tip instead. We will advertise on our website and Facebook page as soon as we have a confirmed date. Thank you for your patience. Community Groups within the Shire of Gnowangerup are now invited to apply for Community Financial Assistance Grants (CFAG) Program. There are three categories of funding available for projects taking place in 2020/21 financial year.
