Southern WA Library Consortia

Southern WA Library Consortium is a network of libraries in southern Western Australia. Members of a participating library are able to use their library card at any of the locations. 15 libraries within 10 local government areas currently participate in the network.

Which libraries participate in the network?

Albany Public Library, Wellstead Public Library, Broomehill Public Library, Tambellup Public Library, Cranbrook Public Library, Frankland Public Library, Denmark Public Library, Gnowangerup Public Library, Ongerup Public Library, Bremer Bay Public Library, Jerramungup Public Library, Katanning Public Library, Kojonup Public Library, Pinjarra Public Library and the Mount Barker Public Library.

How do I borrow from another library?

You can easily borrow from another library by asking a staff member to scan your library card at one of the participating libraries. Your membership details will be confirmed and you will then be ready to borrow.

You can also request a book to be sent to your local library from a participating library. To do this, simply expand your search to the Southern WA Library Consortium catalogue and reserve an item located at another library. You will be notified by your local library once the item arrives and is ready to be collected.

Frequently asked questions:

Q: Are the lending periods and overdue policies the same at each library?

A: No. There may be a variation of policies and lending periods between libraries. Please check when borrowing from a new library or ask a staff member for more information.

Q: How many items can I borrow?

A: Each library will have a loan limit in place. You can borrow up to this limit at each of the libraries.

Q: What if I already have a library card from more than one of these libraries?

A: You will need to choose which card you wish to keep using. Take this card to the other library(s) and ask a staff member to merge your existing membership onto this card.
