NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF SHIRE OF GNOWANGERUP
DOGS LOCAL LAW 2024

The Shire of Gnowangerup has resolved to adopt the Shire of Gnowangerup Dogs Local Law 2024. This local law was published in the Gazette on 11 April 2025 and will come into operation on 25 April 2025.

The purpose of the proposed local law is to make provisions about the impounding of dogs, to control the number of dogs that can be kept on premises, the manner of keeping those dogs, to prescribe areas in which dogs are prohibited and dog exercise areas.

The effect of the proposed local law is to extend the controls over dogs, which exist under the Dog Act 1976.

A copy of the local law may be inspected at or obtained from the Shire’s office at 28 Yougenup Road, Gnowangerup during normal office hours.
