The Shire is seeking to appoint a motivated Deputy Chief Executive Officer who will be responsible for leading and managing several key operational areas, provide organisational leadership and positively influence the organisational culture. Most Importantly, the successful candidate will ensure organisational legislative compliance and provide support to the CEO and Council.
To be considered for this position, a background in local government would be advantageous but not essential. What is essential, is an ability to positively influence, meet deadlines, and engage with key stakeholders. It would be highly advantageous for the successful DCEO to have qualifications in business or commerce or have substantial working experience and knowledge in Accounting and / or Human Resources.
The position comprises an attractive remuneration package of $187,423 which includes the unlimited use of a vehicle (within WA), superannuation and payment of professional memberships. In addition, the position provides rent free housing in an executive level family home, shire matched salary sacrificed superannuation of up to 5%, and five weeks annual leave each year. Employment is offered under a five-year contract with working hours of 76 hours per fortnight, though given seniority a flexible approach to hours worked is required.
