CLEANER - SHIRE OWNED FACILITIES
The Shire of Gnowangerup is seeking a motivated and reliable Cleaner to join our Infrastructure and Assets team. This role is responsible for providing cleaning services for Shire-owned facilities and requires work after-hours within the Shire's Administration and Depot buildings, along with the Swimming Pool Office, during summer. The role is suitable for an individual who is confident in working independently and using their initiative.
About the Role
You will be responsible for:
- Performing scheduled and ad-hoc cleaning tasks to a high standard, including:
- Vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and sweeping.
- Clean and disinfect toilets, showers, sinks, mirrors, and countertops.
- Emptying bins and replenishing supplies (toilet paper, hand towels, soap).
- Removing cobwebs, spot cleaning walls, and sanitizing surfaces.
- Operating commercial cleaning equipment (scrubbers, polishers) may be required to maintain safe surface at Town Hall.
- Placing and retrieving 240L kerbside bins for waste pickup on Thursdays when required.
- Reporting maintenance issues or damage.
- Maintaining cleaning equipment and manage stock of cleaning products.
- Cleaning of Shire Administration Building (twice a week, aligned with Council meetings).
- Cleaning of Shire Depot Building (excluding workshop) (Gnowangerup) (twice a week).
- Cleaning of Swimming Pool Office (once a week during season November to April).
- Assisting with coverage for staff absences in other areas requiring cleaning.

Employees may be required to undertake a medical examination prior to commencement of employment. A purchase order will be issued ahead of such medical examination. All employees are required to provide a police clearance that is no older than three months. The cost of obtaining a police clearance will be reimbursed by the Shire upon provision of receipt.
