ASSET OFFICER - BUILT STRUCTURES

The Shire of Gnowangerup is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Asset Officer to join our Infrastructure and Assets team. This role is responsible for supporting the sustainability, maintenance, compliance and long-term serviceability of the Shire's built structures. The role is suitable for an individual who is confident in working independently and using their initiative. 

About the Role

You will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining accurate built structures asset registers, condition data, and associated records.
  • Undertaking cyclical inspections and condition assessments of Shire-owned built structures and facilities.
  • Assisting with development and review of Asset Management Plans relating to built structures.
  • Assisting with lifecycle planning, renewal forecasting, and capital works prioritisation.
  • Supporting asset valuation and revaluation processes through collection and maintenance of accurate asset data.
  • Coordinating routine, reactive, and programmed maintenance activities for built structures and facilities.
  • Liaising with contractors, suppliers, and operational staff regarding maintenance and repair works.
  • Assisting with procurement, quotations, and contractor engagement processes in accordance with Shire policies and procurement requirements.
  • Monitoring contractor performance and ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and to required standards.
  • Assisting with planning and delivery of built structure renewal and upgrade projects.
  • Assisting in preparation of annual maintenance and capital renewal budgets.
  • Maintaining records relating to inspections, servicing, testing, and statutory compliance
  • Preparing reports, correspondence, and data summaries as required.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of asset management systems and practices.
  • Promoting and comply with Workplace Health and Safety requirements and Shire policies.
  • Undertaking other duties within the employee's skills, competence, and training as directed.

Employees may be required to undertake a medical examination prior to commencement of employment. A purchase order will be issued ahead of such medical examination. All employees are required to provide a police clearance that is no older than three months. The cost of obtaining a police clearance will be reimbursed by the Shire upon provision of receipt.
