First Ever Tagalog Edition of the Shire Newsletter
The Shire of Gnowangerup is proud to share the first ever Tagalog edition of the Gnowangerup Shire News, starting with the October 2026 newsletter.
Our Filipino community is an important part of life across Borden, Ongerup and Gnowangerup. Filipino residents work on our farms, in our businesses and in essential services, and they contribute to local sport, schools, churches and community groups. Many families have made our towns their home, and their energy and warmth have become part of what makes our Shire special.
The Shire newsletter is one of the main ways we keep residents informed about what is happening in the community. It covers Council decisions, upcoming events, road works, waste services and opportunities to have your say. We want every resident to have easy access to this information, and providing the newsletter in Tagalog is one practical step towards making that happen.
The Tagalog edition contains the same content as the English version, including:
- Messages from the Shire President and CEO
- Updates on Council meetings and local laws
- Harvest road safety tips from our Infrastructure and Assets team
- Landfill sorting tips and news on recycling improvements
- Highlights from the Ride Wild, Ride Safe bike workshops
- A wrap-up of Monday Night Sports and what’s coming next
- Information about rates notices and how to contact the Shire
The Tagalog edition includes the same content as the English version, including messages from the Shire President and CEO, harvest road safety tips, landfill sorting tips and the latest on Wild Gravel and Monday Night Sports.
Place names, program names and official titles have been kept in English so readers can easily match them to signs, documents and the English edition.
Access the full Tagalog newsletter at the link below. The English edition is also available on the Gnowangerup Shire Newsletter page of our website.
