The Minister for Commerce approved a variation of the provisions of the Retail Trading Hours Act 1987 (WA) to enable extended trading.

The Shire is looking for expressions of interest for participants in a one-day Health and Safety Representative refresher course. The course is open to Health and Safety Representatives who have completed their initial five-day training and are now required to attend the annual refresher training, as per section 21 of the Work Health and Safety (General) Regulations 2022. The cost of the course will be around $360 per participant. The Ongerup Refuse Site will reopen on Saturday 25 October 2025 after the fire was extinguished at the general waste trench (landfill).

Firebreaks must be installed on all properties within the Shire by 15 October 2025 and maintained clear of all flammable material up to and including 30 April 2026.
