POLLUTION

The Shire of Gnowangerup reminds all persons involved in a business that the washing of vehicles and equipment containing chemicals (pesticides and herbicides) onto the ground is pollution.

The Environmental Protection (Unauthorised Discharge) Regulations 2004, makes it an offence to discharge pesticides and herbicides into the environment. 

A person who commits an offence under these Regulations is liable to an on-the-spot fine of $500 for each offence or a fine of $5,000.
