Important notice – Dog attacks and dogs wandering in and around Gnowangerup town

The Shire has recently been informed of several dog attacks that have happened on farming properties surrounding Gnowangerup town. These attacks have unfortunately resulted in deceased or injured sheep.

As a dog owner it is your responsibility to make sure all fences and gates are secure to ensure your dog is contained within your property. A fine of $200 is applicable for dogs wandering without their owner or on a leash. Any dogs found wandering without an owner/walker will be impounded at the Shire Depot and further fees will need to be paid to get the dog released.

Farm Owners/Occupiers – Please be vigilant if you have sheep in paddocks surrounding Gnowangerup town site. If you see any dogs on your property, please take photos and contact the Shire ASAP.

The Shire of Gnowangerup takes dog attacks seriously and will be investigating this matter over the coming days/weeks.
