The pump at the Gnowangerup Sports Complex has to be replaced and we are waiting for a new pump to arrive. All reticulation at the Complex runs off this pump so the lack of water will have an effect on the ovals and surrounds. It is expected the pump will arrive the week of 7th of December and will be installed as soon as possible.

The Shire of Gnowangerup was recently audited for Occupational Safety and Health practices by LGIS assessors. The result was an outstanding 94%, which resulted in us being awarded a Tier 2 Diligence in Safety Certificate, and $1,500 towards our risk management funding pool. This is great recognition of the work that has been put in place to date by the organisation as a whole.

Congratulations to our Environmental Health Officer, Llew Withers, who has recently stood down as a state & national director of his professional body Environmental Health Australia WA after 22 years continuous service including appointments as President, Vice President, Treasurer, Professional Development & FoodSafe Coordinator, and National FoodSafe Chairman. Llew was awarded a Fellowship of the EHA(WA) recognising his service to the Environmental Health Profession (over 39 years) by the Chief Health Officer, Dr Andrew Robertson. Llew is focused on his work with the Shire of Gnowangerup and his experience will be put to good use.
