The Shire's Community Development Officer (CDO) Mr Sam Davis is the link between Council and the Gnowangerup Shire Community. In addition to assisting in the development of the local and regional economy, the CDO endeavours to build a sense of community and improve the community spirit.

The CDO is a member of many working groups and committees which provides for continuous community contact and involvement in community-related projects. The CDO applies for sponsorship and grants to fund Council projects and may assist community groups and organisations with funding applications.
